Mesjokke | Pure Chocolade DARC Angel, de makers omschrijven het smaakprofiel van deze pure chocolade als volgt. ‘Aards, noten, krachtig.’
D.A.R.C. stands for Divine Aromatic Roasted Cocoa, 72% single origin chocolate gold.
The cocoa beans for D.A.R.C. Angel chocolate come from the Cacao Bisiesto plantations in La Dalia, in the Matagalpa region of Nicaragua. The company gets its name from the day of its founding (29 February), which only occurs in leap years; bisiesto in Spanish.
Founders José Enrique Herrera and Giff Laube work closely with farmers to ensure that the quality of the cocoa remains high and that they earn more than if their cocoa entered the mainstream market. Together, they ensure that nature and cocoa are respected throughout the production process.
At Utrecht's Mesjokke chocolate factory, the cocoa beans were then expertly roasted, skinned, ground and tempered from bean-to-bar. All this craftsmanship can be seen and tasted in this bar.
