Millésime | Chocolate Pistachio Nougatine, the makers of this bar of dark chocolate, describe it as follows. 'Delicious dark and sweet chocolate from Ghana, filled with a layer of crunchy nougatine and pieces of pistachios'.
"Millesime" is a French term often used in the wine and chocolate world to refer to the harvest or year in which a particular product was produced. The word literally means "vintage" and indicates that the products come from a specific year, similar to how we talk about vintages in the wine world. In the context of chocolate, "millesime" can also imply that the cocoa comes from a specific harvest or terroir, and that the unique flavour profile and quality of the chocolate have been influenced by the conditions of that specific year.
As with wine, the heart of their approach is to work exclusively with beans from exceptional plantations and terroirs to highlight their characteristics. Millesime therefore does not blend crops, regions or vintages and our entire production is certified organic.
